Lady London Unveils the New Howard University Jordan 1 Low

Jordan Brand is continuing its close relationship with Howard University with another Air Jordan 1 Low OG, and we now have a much better look at the upcoming release.

The new campaign imagery features Howard alum and rapper Lady London, who shared the sneaker while wearing a full Howard-inspired varsity look. The connection makes sense: London attended Howard University before beginning her music career, giving the campaign a direct link back to the school rather than simply using its colors as inspiration.

The sneaker is scheduled to release on October 1, 2026 for $165, carrying style code IX8478-410.

Midnight Navy Brings Howard’s Colors to the AJ1 Low

The new release takes a noticeably darker approach than the previous Howard-associated Air Jordan 1 Low.

A deep Midnight Navy dominates the upper, while white and red details bring in Howard University's recognizable school palette. The lateral Swoosh uses contrasting stitching, while the heel makes the connection even clearer with Howard Bison branding embroidered directly onto the shoe.

Red appears around the Swoosh detailing, tongue and outsole, while the white midsole keeps the overall design balanced.

It is a very straightforward color combination, but that may actually work in its favor. Instead of overloading the Air Jordan 1 Low with university graphics, Jordan Brand keeps the classic silhouette intact while letting the Howard details do most of the talking.

Another Chapter in Jordan Brand’s Howard Partnership

This release carries more weight than a normal collegiate-inspired colorway.

Jordan Brand and Howard University entered a 20-year partnership in 2022, designed to support the university's athletics program while expanding the representation and influence of HBCUs within sport and culture.

Howard athletes have since received numerous Player Exclusive Jordans, including versions of models such as the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 6. Publicly available Howard releases, however, have remained much less common. This upcoming pair is expected to become only the second Howard-linked Air Jordan 1 Low offered at retail, following the 2024 release.

That makes this more interesting than the usual school-color Jordan release, especially for Howard alumni, HBCU supporters and collectors who have followed the partnership from the beginning.

Howard University x Air Jordan 1 Low Release Date

The Howard University x Air Jordan 1 Low is currently scheduled to release on October 1, 2026 for $165.

The confirmed color description is Midnight Navy/Multi-Color, while the sneaker carries style code IX8478-410. Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers are expected to carry the release.

With Howard branding now clearly visible on the final shoe and an actual Howard alum fronting the latest imagery, this feels much more like a proper university release than simply another navy and red Air Jordan 1.
