Nike Caitlin 1 “3x Black”
Caitlin Clark Reveals Another Nike Caitlin 1
The Nike Caitlin 1 lineup keeps getting stronger. Caitlin Clark has once again used her own Instagram Story to preview another upcoming colorway, this time giving us an early look at the Nike Caitlin 1 “3x Black.”
The pair is currently expected to release on January 5, 2027 for $140, carrying style code IH7423-001 and an official color description of Black/Metallic Silver-Racer Blue.
This is also not the first time we have seen an all-black Caitlin 1. Travis Scott was spotted in a black version during the original rollout of Clark’s signature model, although it was unclear at the time whether that pair was simply an early sample. Clark now showing off another black-based pair herself makes the colorway much more interesting heading into 2027.
Black, Silver and Just Enough Racer Blue
Compared with some of the brighter Caitlin 1 colorways already revealed, the “3x Black” keeps things much more understated.
Black covers almost the entire upper, including the textured Opticast construction, laces and midsole. A Metallic Silver double Swoosh provides the biggest contrast on the lateral side, while small Racer Blue details appear around Clark’s branding and the “22” embroidery.
That combination makes this one of the easiest Caitlin 1 colorways to wear so far. The performance-focused silhouette already has a fairly aggressive shape, and the nearly all-black treatment lets the unusual upper construction and layered Swoosh stand out without needing a loud color palette.
Nike built the Caitlin 1 around an Opticast upper, forefoot Air Zoom Turbo and full-length Cushlon cushioning, with the design focused on quick first steps, separation and responsiveness.
The Caitlin 1 Lineup Is Getting Serious
What is becoming increasingly interesting is just how deep Nike appears to be going with Caitlin Clark’s first signature line.
We have already seen several very different colorways surface ahead of and beyond the model’s debut, and Clark has repeatedly used Instagram to preview upcoming pairs herself. Nike is clearly not treating the Caitlin 1 like a one-colorway experiment.
The first real test arrives on October 1, 2026, when the “Racer Blue” launches globally for $140. Nike has confirmed that the debut release will be available through Nike and select Basketball retailers worldwide.
It will be interesting to see just how strong demand is once the shoe finally hits shelves. Given the attention around Clark, the number of colorways already being teased and the relatively accessible $140 price point, a fast sell-through on the first drop would immediately add even more momentum to the releases that follow.
That does not automatically mean every Caitlin 1 will become difficult to buy — stock levels and distribution will matter — but October 1 should give us the first proper indication of how big this signature line can become.

From a lifestyle perspective, the “3x Black” may have an advantage over some of the louder options.
The mostly black construction is easy to wear away from the basketball court, while the silver Swoosh and small Racer Blue hits keep it from looking completely flat. If the Caitlin 1 performs well at retail this fall, a clean black pair arriving shortly after the holiday season could make a lot of sense.
At $140, Nike is also keeping Clark’s signature shoe noticeably below many premium basketball and lifestyle releases. That price point could prove important if Nike wants the Caitlin 1 to become more than a hype-driven first signature sneaker and establish itself as a regular option on basketball courts.
