Another Nike Caitlin 1 has surfaced, and this one comes with a very obvious football connection.

Caitlin Clark has revealed the upcoming Nike Caitlin 1 “Chiefs”, a bright red and gold colorway inspired by the Kansas City Chiefs. Clark has publicly supported the Chiefs for years, making the color scheme a personal addition to an already increasingly deep signature lineup. Sneaker News also identified the red-and-yellow pair shown during Nike’s Caitlin 1 preview as a direct nod to Clark’s favorite football team.

Chiefs Colors Take Over the Caitlin 1

The inspiration is hard to miss.

University Red covers almost the entire Opticast upper, laces and collar, giving the shoe an extremely bold base. University Gold then takes over the outsole and portions of the midsole, immediately creating the red-and-gold combination associated with Kansas City.

A metallic stacked Swoosh adds another layer to the design, while smaller silver, black and Racer Blue details break up the otherwise very direct color blocking.

It is one of the louder Caitlin 1 colorways we have seen so far, but it also makes sense within the growing collection. Nike has already shown that Clark’s signature line will move between very different looks rather than relying on slight variations of the same palette.
