Nike and Netflix’s cult series aren’t done yet. After November’s capsule stirred up the feeds, a Stranger Things–branded Air Foamposite One is next in line for February 13 via SNKRS and select retailers. It’s a love letter to ‘90s hoops and Hawkins lore at once—and a clever canvas for the Foamposite’s wild, molded shell.

Design

This pair leans fully into the Upside Down. The Foamposite shell fades from ember red to black, streaked with lightning-like veining that reads like molten cracks across a lava field. Black nubuck at the eyestays and collar reins it in, while a matching tongue, rope laces and pull tabs keep the upper stealthy so the shell can do the talking. The outsole switches to a hot-red translucent finish that ties back to the print and frames the carbon-fiber midfoot plate peeking through the arch.

Branding is sharp but restrained: tiny red Swooshes at the forefoot, Penny’s “1¢” logo at the heel, and co-branded Stranger Things x Nike hits on the insoles. The special box continues the storytelling with distressed edges, a world map graphic, and tissue paper stamped with the show’s wordmark. A set of collectible pins (Hellfire Club among them) rounds out the fan service without overwhelming the sneaker itself.

Fit, feel, and performance (what to expect)

Underfoot, this is classic Foamposite One DNA: a sculpted Foamposite shell for structure, full-length Zoom Air cushioning riding on a Phylon midsole, and that carbon-fiber shank for torsional snap. The herringbone traction pattern remains a workhorse on indoor courts. On foot, Foams start snug and break in with wear—the shell subtly forms to you over time. If you’ve never owned a pair, expect a firmer, “carved out of one piece” ride compared to modern knit-and-foam hoop shoes, with durability and stability as the calling cards.

The Foamposite is an icon with a cult following, but it thrives when a narrative supercharges the silhouette—think Galaxy, Paranorman, Supreme. Stranger Things brings exactly that: an instantly recognizable aesthetic world, a rabid fanbase, and a knack for memetic design cues. For Nike, it’s a smart way to keep the Foamposite conversation fresh as the model continues its comeback arc. For collectors, it’s a crossover trophy that doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone.

All signs point to strong demand. Stranger Things product has been moving quickly, and the Foamposite’s fanbase shows up whenever the storytelling is right. Add the collectible pins, special packaging, and a colorway that photographs crazily well, and you’ve got the kind of drop that fuels both day-one wearers and sealed-box collectors. The only watch-outs are price sensitivity (Foams sit in premium territory) and sizing: new adopters should be ready for that “Foam fit” and break-in curve.
